The story of Ants and Sulaiman As Prophet

 

        Once upon a time, there was a great famine in Palestine precisely during the time of Sulaiman As Prophet. At that moment, Sulaiman Prophet walked with his followers and went to a clearing in the desert to pray for rain. 

Suddenly, an ant approached him and joined in praying raising his hand up. The ant said, "Dear Allah, We are only Your very small creatures among all. We cannot live without Your grace. Please give us Your sustenance and do not punish us for human sins. Please send down rain so the trees can grow , the farms are green, and grain is available. And we also have food to eat."

Prophet Sulaiman certainly knew the language of all animals. After knowing that the ants were praying to Allah, he invited all residents to back  home. The Prophet said, “Let's go home now. The ant prayer is enough.”. ladies and gentleman, do you know  what happened after that. Not long after, it rained heavily and all the land turned green.

Ants are intelligent creatures. Daily, they collect and keep food in the hole, and also they love to  help each other.

        One day, when Prophet Sulaiman was walking with his troops, they reached the valley of the ants! The Queen of ant saw  it, and  remind all the ants to go to their hole so that they would not be trampled by sulaiman and his troops. the voice of  queen ant was heard by prophet sulaiman.

      Prophet Sulaiman smiled at the words spoken by the queen ants. He asked his troops to wait until the ants entered their holes. The queen ant was very grateful to allah because they can enter  their hole safely. This story has been explained by Allah SWT at surah an naml verse eighteen in the holy quran.

The meaning of this surah is  “Until, when they arrived at the Valley of the Ants, an ant said: Hey ant! Enter where you live, prophet Sulaiman and his troops will destroy you, unnoticed.”
